Freewell V2 Magnetic Hybrid VND/CPL Filter (and Glow Mist 1/4): Quick Look
Amazon (VND/CPL) - amzn.to/3WM61UN
Glow Mist 1/4 - amzn.to/3WIuzOa
In this video I look in more detail at the 2 in 1 filter from Freewell. The V2 is a magnetic filter system with a combined variable ND (3-7 stops) and Circular Polarising filter.
The design is interesting and it allows the use of other add on filters (either stacked or reverse screw onto the 82mm filter thread magnetic ring). I also look at the Glow Mist filter (1/4).
In this video I show it up close, discuss the design and test it to see if there is any impact on image resolution, or colour balance. As this is a review I do mention areas to improve and places I think the filter/s do well.

    Thank you for making such a detailed review of these 3 cameras. I loved the low light capability of the 5D. I had problems with the 5D. The shutter and anti shake mechanism failed in both of my early models of the 5D cameras within a year or two of purchase back in the 2000's . I moved to the A200 when it came out and it has worked flowless for +15 years. I too enjoyed the feel and interface of the 5D and wished my old models still worked. Wondering if anyone else had the same durability issues I did with the 5D. If I recall, I had 1 unit repaired under warranty but it failed again soon after. The A200 was not handled nearly as carefully as the 5D and is still working fine.

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews 4 дня назад

      Seems to be a luck thing from what I can see. I have 2 5D's and both are working, one has the black frame (but it mostly works fine just the odd time that turns up), the other one is the original I bought new in 2006, and it went back for a service to fix that, and I've not had a problem since. I do use the cameras (more so the black frame one). On the other hand I have an A100 with a steadshot problem, it works but the image is off centre. A200 I had a few of those and didn't have an issue. I had an A99 fail once, lock up after a single shot, pull battery, takes shot locks up again. I ended up selling it for parts and that camera had very modest shutter count of under 40K. Just the way it goes I think.

    i am actually thinking about if this might actually a better purchase right now than a mirrorless. if you re in the market for a around 400 Euro used camera body, your mirrorless options are extremely limited. you have something like lets say a sony a7ii. but its just worse than a d800 in about every aspect there is. then you have stuff like couple fujis but that stuff isnt better than a d800... and lenses and such cost more too. its quite a weird one. i love focus peaking. thats about it. you re kind of paying a lot of money to ... at times get similar or even worse image quality. i m just not sure if its even worth it to be honest, based how absolutely dirty cheap you can get dslr stuff at the moment

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews 6 дней назад

      The A7II is dated and maybe OK for using with adapted lenses as a lower cost option, but I'd skip it. A7III costs more quite a bit over 1000 usually for a good one. I have a Nikon Z6 here and I am going to do a review on that, it's a bit more affordable as far as mirrorless goes. I have to be completely honest, I'd rather shoot with the D800 over the mirrorless cameras I have used, some are very good, but the fun factor is less for some reason. Ergonomics not as good, less controls. The mirrorless systems would be very expensive to buy into, there are a lot of F mount deals right now bodies and lenses. Whilst I play with mirrorless too, the D800 is going nowhere it's a superb camera even to this day.

    Honestly used to think I should have upgraded sooner (9 years with the D5200) but with the used market prices today and a lot more experience under my belt I'm so glad I waited. So excited to hold this camera for the first time in a few weeks and crack open that thick manual!

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews 9 дней назад

      You can buy a used D800 body for less than the D5200 cost new, which is a huge bargain. It's heavier and larger but who cares the camera is very capable, and far cheaper than any mirrorless offering.

    They should have a readily accessible battery compartment like any other electric appliance out there..... but this way the manufacturer ensures that you have to take the shaver to an authorized service center to have the battery replaced. Clever move...but I´m sorry, Philips. I´m not going to swallow the bait. This thing belongs in the garbage can. As long as I have any other shaving options, I won´t ever buy electric shavers again.

      I agree but it's common among many brands (sadly). I did do a teardown video it is possible to get to the cells (but it's a hassle and you have to de-solder them). I am hoping makers might consider easier battery replacement designs. There is legislation for phones coming in in Europe to make it compulsory to have easy access batteries (no tools needed), and it's long long overdue.

      @@MrBazReviews Yes, my series 3000 gave up the ghost in less than 3 years and I´m really disappointed. I owned several Philips shavers in the past and I must say that they were excellent products made in Holland that could easily last a decade if properly taken care of.....but today the company´s philosophy appears to be very different. It looks like they intend to force us to spend our precious money on a new shaver every two years and the rest of manufacturers seem to follow suit. The problem is that I ´m looking for basic shavers that no longer exist on the market....I don´t need to shave in the shower, I don´t need TFT screens, rechargeable batteries or other bells and whistles on a shaver. I just need a plug-in shaver that does the job well.... and I can´t find it.

      @@MrBazReviews Well not going to go buy one with out the throw distance hell the HC33 has a longer throw or distance. And Its lighter a lot of people complained about them being too heavy, I would not want to carry this thing really. No way would I use one for camping or walking the HC33 I think Is the best light for most things.

      @@davis6048 21700 is IMO a bit heavy, for longer periods of use, 18650 makes more sense to me. The HC33 I liked it quite a bit decent range for the power output, UI is a bit weird though. I'd like to see an update on it but it's not a bad choice overall.

    Wider tip wouldn't help, the minis are just for small inconveniences or messes and usually even too weak even for that, how ever tech has come far. Cleaning the keyobard seems actually smart, won't blow dust or dirt into the air, don't use it on PC though. Supposedly might create static and break components. Old ones for sure.

      I think the smaller tip creates more suction power, but I'd like a somewhat larger one. It is quite useful I still have it and use it just replace the filter every 12 months

      The Canon has live view and somewhat better high ISO, but for taking photos of paintings it's really not going to matter which one you use. Canon takes SD cards that might matter to you.

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews 19 дней назад

      It's quite good but of course the range is fairly limited for a zoom lens. Have to stop it down quite a bit at 24mm to get good corners (not quite sharp but not bad). It depends if you want the 24mm it's not bad for what it is (bit like the 35-70mm F4 has it's flaws but cheap and light/small)

    I love this camera, best one i've had - do a lot of hiking with it, and in bad weather also, camera is a bit heavy....also thumb grip came off after only a year but managed to glue it back on and it's been alright since. I also got condensation inside the lens and had to send it away to be repaired. Also the viewfinder tends to mist up when it gets wet and it;'s hard to see what i'm taking but apart from all that, excellent picture quality, very sharp images.

      I still like it, and use it together with the D800 (they have their own set of pros and cons). Nikon's ongoing rubber issues are not over yet! But I didn't have the thumbpad come off (yet) just the side rubber. It's a shame Nikon don't give it more support and push, for those who do want a DSLR it's quite capable.

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews 22 дня назад

      It's unlikely due to the cost and fact they are higher end lenses. Some people are still looking at Minolta lenses, but as Sony dropped A mount I only have a few items left as I sold off most of my equipment. Honestly the main issue is that higher end lenses get less interest then the more affordable ones do (the Beercan still gets quite a lot of views it's a popular one)

    I’ve never soldered before but it would be way cheaper than buying a new razor, any tips on first time soldering/ what I should buy to do so?

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews 23 дня назад

      Get some "solder wick" it soaks up the solder and then it's easier to remove. Just heat both sides of the battery with the wick and it will soak up the solder. Re-apply solder with a new battery fitted (solder the cells ends then insert, and heat up the contacts to bond)
